The Sonoco Institute

The Sonoco Institute was created to exploit the synergies that exist between the graphic communications and packaging science departments. It is the only university program in the country with this one-of-a-kind multidisciplinary approach to packaging as a core competency.

Corrugated Symposium: Color Predictability

From Brand Colors to Process Colors, Learn the ‘science’ and how to apply it to benefit productivity and profitability.

This NEW program aims to make the connections between sound uses of the latest technical knowledge and optimum decisions, sound manufacturing practices and profitability. Given the importance that “getting color right” has to the customer, this will be the technical theme on which the course instruction is built. But there’s more!

While becoming good printers, converters have too often failed to capitalize on the values that best practices should bring to measures of overall business success. This new course will instruct on the key components and latest technologies in producing top quality graphics and how they connect directly to your business goals.

Participants will see the clear outcomes of this technical program in reducing waste, quicker setups, improved measures of productivity and higher profits while maintaining competitive pricing. Along with these business benefits come delihted customers and a new confidence among the sales force that make growing the business easier.

Who Should Attend:

As with past symposia, anyone who is engaged in the process of elevating graphics capabilities will benefit significantly. Having watched the outcomes over many years, missing value has often resulted from the lack of a team approach back at the plant. For this reason, it is strongly encouraged to have “teams” participate. A good team includes a top business decision maker, a key manager over printing/manufacturing and the leadership in sales in the organization. This is an example that will enable the development of a long range plan which is always essential to susstained progress toward any major goal.
