The Sonoco Institute

The Sonoco Institute was created to exploit the synergies that exist between the graphic communications and packaging science departments. It is the only university program in the country with this one-of-a-kind multidisciplinary approach to packaging as a core competency.

Digital Plates and Screening for Flexo

In today’s environment, digital workflow processes should be SIMPLER not more complicated. Learn how to “un-complicate” the digital plate process from prepress to RIP to final plate production while achieving optimal results from your digital investment, and taking advantage of state-of-the-art flexo screening, imaging and plating technology.

Working with industry leaders, you will learn to recognize the pitfalls, avoid common mistakes and develop procedures to achieve consistent and repeatable results on every plate, every press run. It’s knowledge appropriate for all segments of flexography whether currently using a digital workflow or planning to convert to a digital system in the future.

This is a one and a half day seminar, concluding around noon on the last day.

Hands-on Sessions:

  • Plate Imaging, Evaluation, and Process Control
  • Establishing Optimal Screening and Calibration Curves
