The Sonoco Institute

The Sonoco Institute was created to exploit the synergies that exist between the graphic communications and packaging science departments. It is the only university program in the country with this one-of-a-kind multidisciplinary approach to packaging as a core competency.

AICC: Best Practices for Flexographic Printing (Corrugated): Raising the Standard

The continued partnership between Clemson University and AICC helps serve the educational needs of the corrugated print industry through hands-on instruction on Clemson's 4-color Bobst corrugated press.

LEARN THE BEST PRACTICES TO PRODUCE HIGH QUALITY DIRECT PRINT ON CORRUGATED AND LINERBOARD

Producing high-quality flexographic printing on corrugated substrates and linerboard has always been a challenge. AICC’s new two-day course will focus on how to produce clean solids and line work, as well as halftones and spot colors by balancing classroom sessions and time on press. By this method, participants will have a deeper understanding of the concepts and gain experience building standard works. Many troubleshooting issues will be addressed from dot gain and die-cutting to proper graphic design for corrugated to ensure the best results. Participants will be able to take the practices learned back to their home plants, and machinery by the construction of standard operation procedures, one point lessons, and checklists.
