The Sonoco Institute

The Sonoco Institute was created to exploit the synergies that exist between the graphic communications and packaging science departments. It is the only university program in the country with this one-of-a-kind multidisciplinary approach to packaging as a core competency.

Clemson University at Flex2013

Faculty from the Sonoco Institute and the Graphic Communications department participated in the Flex2013 printed electroincs conference in Phoenix, AZ last week. They worked wth Cal Poly to put on a half day workshop, provide live demos at their booth during the show, spoke during two sessions, and had 2 entrees in the poster session. David Savastano of Printed Electronics now attended the workshop and wrote a brief article about experience (Determining Future Markets for Printed Electronics).

ABC15 (one of the local news stations) was also present, and spent twenty minutes at the Clemson/Cal Poly booth interviewing faculty and students. The story aired on February 4th, and was really well done (it begins with our booth, but unfortuneatly only shows a few seconds of us... http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/science_tech/the-future-is-here-with-flexible-technology)
